The Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, May 23rd via video conferencing. Here are the minutes:


Holloway Cemetery Association Meeting

May 23, 2020


Opening Remarks by John Marshall Holloway, Co-President

1. Welcome attendees to the first video conference annual meeting.


General Business:

1. Financial Statement by John Holloway:

a. Simmons Bank work account, Wells Fargo interest baring account and Wells Fargo holding account balances were provided.

b. 2020-2021 Expenses will be $400 per mowing and as approved through committees that were set up for re-mapping the cemetery and getting a webpage set up.


2. Proposal for Mapping of the Cemetery

a. John Holloway outlined the proposal from Texas Cemetery Restoration, LLC.

b. It was determined that we would wait for one additional bid (from Stasie) before making a decision.

c. Committee was set up with John Holloway, Karen Love and Jim Holloway


3. Nominations for Board of Directors and Amendments to By-laws

a. John Holloway and John-Marshall Holloway Co-Presidents

b. Bobby Holloway, Member of Board of Directors

c. Judy Low, Member of Board of Directors

d. Jim Holloway, Member of Board of Directors

e. Daniel Holloway, Member of Board of Directors

f. Cammeron Holloway, Member of Board of Directors

g. Discussion regarding number of board of directors needed. It was decided that there should be minimum of five members. Additional discussion on the by-laws stating members must reside in Grayson County, Texas.

h. John-Marshall Holloway made a motion to change by-laws to allow up to two members to reside in the United States and three members to reside within Grayson County. Motion seconded by Bobby Holloway.

i. Nominated members A-E were approved by majority vote; however, Jim and Daniel cannot be elected until by-laws are updated; Cammeron Holloway appointed Committee Chairman for the IT Committee.

j. John-Marshall Holloway will update the by-laws and submit to the State of Texas to amend the residency requirement and change the advertising of the annual meeting to allow advertising on Internet based platforms.

k. Daniel Holloway and Jim Holloway to be qualified and elected to the Board after the changes to the by-laws are in effect.


4. Committee Updates

a. Cammeron Holloway provided update on creation of a webpage. The domain has been purchased and work has started to develop the media. The website will be hollowaycemeteryassociation.com. There is currently nothing visible on the url.

b. The creation of an IT Committee was suggested and approved.

i. A Paypal account has been set up to receive donations. The email address for the account is hollowaycemetery@gmail.com and all donations will be credited to the work account.
